It is hard to believe that it’s been 4 years and 1 day since Islington BAMER Advice Alliance joined the club of Islington’s rich and diverse community and voluntary sector. And boy, have we grown since!
In June 2019, we were just 6 BAMER-led community organisations with a vision to do things differently. We wanted to grow together, support each other and most importantly, ensure quality services would be accessible to everyone across the borough. After 4 years marked by many challenges, from the Covid Pandemic to war in Ukraine and the Cost of Living Crisis, we are now a well-established charity with a network of wonderful partners. So, thank you so much for being a part of this journey and helping us grow!
We are particularly thankful to our members – Islington Somali Community, Eritrean Community in the UK, Islington Bangladesh Association, IMECE, KMEWO, and Evelyn Oldfield Unit. A huge thank you also goes to our funders – Islington Council, Cripplegate and Cloudesley. We would not be here without you, so thank you, for seeing the amazing potential in ibaa.
We are marking the anniversary with
the re-launch of the ibaa brand!
To celebrate, we got ourselves a brand new brand! Thanks to the help of the wonderful, Islington-based Ottilie Studio, we can reveal our new logo with all the trimmings. The new, sleek and modern design in stunning colours reflects just how far we’ve come!

Our ibaa.org.uk also got a big makeover, although we are still adding some final touches. Let us know if you have any suggestions on how to make our websites more accessible and readable. Your feedback will be more than welcome!
